Ron Dawson has wide-ranging experience in Urban Regeneration. He has worked in Local Government on a variety of capital development programmes and public and private sector regeneration initiatives over a period of twenty years. Prior to joining Inpartnership Ron worked with Bovis Lend Lease where his role was to set up and manage joint ventures with Local Authorities and in particular to ensure the delivery of the social objectives of the public sector with the commercial imperatives of Bovis Lend Lease. In this context, Ron has been instrumental in promoting and establishing targeted employment, training and trading programmes through major development schemes to ensure that local people and firms benefit from the investment which is taking place.

Ron’s experience includes:

Bradford Bovis Social Partnership
This joint venture between the Bradford City Council Bovis Lend Lease has resulted in the completion of a variety of residential and commercial projects; most recently the creation of a new City Centre Business Park which has brought investment of around £16m and 800 jobs to the city.

The Salford Bovis Partnership
Specially created to undertake commercial development on Salford Quays to provide revenue support to the Lowry Centre, this joint venture lead to the development of the Lowry Galleria, a £40 million plus project involving retail, leisure, commercial and residential units.

Leicester City Council
Bovis Lend Lease and Inpartnership have been selected as joint venture partner by Leicester City Council for the Old Town area of the city. A Master Plan and Business Plan has been produced and approved by the Council and will involve the development of high quality waterside residential accommodation, hotel, health club etc. as well as schemes to support educational and healthcare sectors and associated public realm works.

Local Labour Initiatives
In all relevant regeneration programmes and joint ventures with public sector agencies, Ron has been responsible for introducing and ensuring compliance with initiatives, which link local people to the opportunities emerging during construction or end users of capital projects.

Through mechanisms such as employment charters, supply chain management and dedicated training and placement programmes, high levels of local employment and trading have been achieved and continue to be delivered to the benefit of the areas involved and to the company.
